about

The idea for the first tune in this set came to me during a late night of tunes with friends at Celtic Connections in Glasgow. I felt very inspired by all the amazing musicians I met in sessions and loved hearing all the different styles of music they played throughout the festival.

The second tune I'd written a good few years ago after a similar experience of playing tunes at the Ennis Fleadh all week with friends. I couldn't think of a name for this tune until recently when I decided to name it after my cousin's wee girl Bethany, as she loved dancing around to it when I played it for her.

The last tune, by Vincent Broderick, has always been a favourite of mine. My old flute teacher and best pal Roisín McNulty taught me this many, many years ago and we've loved playing it ever since.
